Telehealth

An online physio or podiatry consultation from the comfort of your own surroundings.


Telehealth allows a health consultation where off-site therapy is necessary, such as in the recent Covid-19 pandemic. This is achieved through a video meeting whereby the practitioner assesses and manages the injury online.

  • How does it work?

    Once your appointment is booked, you will receive an invite to a secure chat room where your practitioner will be waiting. Your practitioner will conduct a thorough interview and ask you to complete some movement tests which will form the basis of a diagnosis and individualised rehabilitation plan.

  • Who is Telehealth suitable for?

    Anyone who is in pain and unable to attend the clinic due to being unwell or COVID-19 restrictions.


    If you have a sore back, stiff neck, suffering from knee or foot pain, have sustained an acute injury or looking to rehabilitate a longer term injury, telehealth is perfect for you.


    Your practitioner will alert you if telehealth is unsuitable for your condition, and a home visit can be organised. Call the clinic if you have any further queries.

  • How does this work without hands on treatment?

    Hands on therapy still offers some value in reducing pain in acute instances. However…To resolve long term injuries the evidence points toward a combined injury education & exercise rehabilitation approach.

    It focuses on the things that really count in managing pain & injury. 

  • What can I expect from my telehealth appointment?

    We provide you with a diagnosis and education surrounding your injury and factors that may have contributed to the injury.


    We work with you to form a rehabilitation plan that leads to achieving your goals and getting you back to the things that matter!


    Exercise is an extremely powerful tool to reduce pain, improve strength & movement. Your practitioner will provide you with an individualised exercise rehabilitation program through our electronic partners at PhysiApp -  Free to download at the App store. 


    You now have a comprehensive rehabilitation program at your fingertips, to complete in the comfort of your own home!


    At Errol Street Physiotherapy, we have a range of products to make your rehabilitation process easier. These are available for purchase on site or via mail out – Please contact the clinic for more information.

  • Can I claim through Private Health Insurance?

    Yes.


    There is now Physiotherapy coverage for telehealth consultations by most Private Health Insurers. You may wish to contact your provider to confirm coverage.

This includes the assessment, explanation and initial treatment of the injury. The interaction will include a thorough exercise program to allow self-management and reduce the likelihood of injury recurrence.
